1. What is BudsAlike+?

BudsAlike+ is a unique matchmaking service where we help you find potential partners based on shared tastes in dining. Our philosophy is to encourage more real-life interactions, which means we facilitate dates in person, as we believe that’s the best way to get to know someone.

2. How does BudsAlike+ work?

You sign up, tell us about your favorite and least favorite restaurants. Our AI then goes to work, analyzing your taste footprint and finding you matches based on shared tastes. The aim is not to exhaust all possible compatibility points but to cover key lifestyle aspects that can be derived from dining preferences and can help spark a real-life date.

3. Why do you use dining preferences for matching?

Dining preferences can reveal a lot about a person – from their spending habits to their preferred locations, dietary preferences, and even aspects of their values and worldview. But we also want to make real-life meetings happen, and what better way to have a first date than over a meal you both are likely to enjoy?

4. What if I don’t eat out much?

While our model thrives on dining out data, we appreciate that everyone has a different lifestyle. If you don’t eat out often, tell us about your favorite meals or foods. We’ll do our best to match you based on this information.

5. Is BudsAlike+ free?

Currently, our service is free during the trial run. We do, however, collect a deposit (to be refunded after your date) when arranging your first date to prevent no-shows.

6. When will I get a match?

We aim to start matching once we hit 500 sign-ups. The more people join, the better our AI gets at finding good matches.

7. How does the AI find matches?

Our AI uses your taste footprint to find others with similar dining preferences. We believe in not over-complicating the initial match. The aim is to get basics matched, have some personalized questions answered, and then the rest is up to your real-life interaction.

8. Why should I trust BudsAlike+ with my data?

Your privacy is paramount to us. We only use your data to improve your experience and find you the best matches. We don’t share your data with third parties.

9. What happens when you launch the app?

When we launch our app, everyone who joined during the trial run will receive special perks. Stay tuned for more info!
